Justice Markandey Katju

Whenever, Justice comes to media light , they are always against him. Starting from his criticism on media people to today's Salman Rushdie. They are actually against him. We must look into the virtues on the side of the Justice. The comments he made on media was absolutely welcoming. When he described media persons should concentrate on more social related works, he meant the voice of people who also criticize the media people on exaggeration and over-concentrating in a single issue and making it a big controversy (Thanks to Anna Hazare). When he made this thing, I was watching a well-known TV which started to critize him without even realising that they were wasting time, which could have used to educate people.

The best example to describe this is no one knew that Swami Nigamatmananda was dying when Anna Hazare was winning. Thanks to the media intervention in the 'cleaning action of India'. Even after the strong criticism he has faced, as a judge of apex court and he is facing as the chairman of the press council and also as a outspoken person, Katju has always spoken from the viewpoint of his own without fearing anyone and also has never even bothered to care about his critcs, which shows his attitude of a person as gentle and outspoken. Even for his comments on Salman Rushdie I feel that the people and the patrons of so called Jaipur fest are doing too much on this issue. This shows the 'Hero worship' culture and not the 'literature worshiping' which was done before. This shows that we are concentrating on people more than the issues which are proved from the above said examples. Let us atleast hope to get a few people like this to tear the issues apart and bringing the appraisal in the attitude of people.
